Vinyasa | Eye of the Storm

Cultivating the Eye of the Storm

Filmed in Indian Creek, Utah… just as a desert storm was brewing in the distance, this practice is designed to invoke calm amidst the chaos of life with deep hip opening to anchor into one Self for stability and centering. Ayurveda and Yoga both recognize the human being as a microcosm of the macrocosm - mirroring Nature because we are Nature. Much like the eye of the storm, the center of solace and stillness, we have the ability to tap into our source of steadiness when life brings storms. We use breath, mindfulness and metaphor throughout to return to oneself, strengthening the ability to access the present even as thoughts get seduced into anticipation or stuck in a vortex of past story.

Expect deep hip opening with an element of surprise. Mandala movement. Working towards an optional arm balance of Eka Pada Galavasana or Flying Pigeon.

Optional Props: 2 Blocks or 2 Bolsters to support reclined butterfly pose.
