Creating Spacious Presence
Filmed in Indian Creek, Utah and inspired by the vast landscape of the desert. When the mind is clogged up with thoughts, hung up on the ever-present past or circling to the insatiable effort to control the future, navigating life can feel depleting. Rather than trying to catch the wind, we learn through awareness and attention to be space as it is - to “be the sky and let everything else be the weather” - as Buddhist teacher Pema Chödron says. In this class, we explore hip and heart opening. We ground and we expand - the capacity to breathe, to feel, and to be with whatever arises… working up to Kapinjalasana or Partridge Pose. This is the practice of strengthening presence, and in turn tapping into the spaciousness of being.
