Sahaja Yoga - Mandala Flow

In this 60 minute yoga practice, we move in a mandala (circular) yoga flow, and explore the Sanskrit word 'Sahaja.' Sahaja translates to 'spontaneous, natural, born together.' We are born with the capacity to drop into spontaneous moments of awareness, awake-ness and knowing. This access to our own liberation is innate and can immerse at any moment. 'Vinyasa' its its original meaning from the early Tantras was understood as a 'sequence of consciousness'. - how life unfolds from the pulse of the Universe. In this class, you are invited to drop into your natural and spontaneous ways of self-discovery.

What to expect: Begin with centering and Nadi shodhana / alternate nostril breathing practice. Expect movement in a circle around your mat as we open shoulders with binds and ground through hip openers including malasana, skandasana, ardha chandrasana and more. Eventually we work towards the standing balance - bird of paradise -that requires hip opening, hamstring stretching and shoulder opening.

Suggested Props: Two bricks (one in front and back of your mat) and strap
